Car Servicing

A car service is a routine check-up for your vehicle, designed to keep it running safely, efficiently, and reliably. Depending on the level of service, it can range from a simple inspection of key wear-and-tear components to a comprehensive multi-point check. Regular servicing is essential because your safety depends on your vehicle’s condition, and while some minor issues may be noticeable, only a trained technician can accurately diagnose and resolve underlying problems. If warning lights appear or your vehicle doesn’t feel quite right, our team at Marbree Motors is here to help.
Why Do I Need Car Servicing?
Regular servicing and maintenance help prevent unexpected breakdowns, improve fuel efficiency, and extend the lifespan of your vehicle. Even if your car appears to be running well, internal components can wear over time and lead to costly repairs if left unchecked. Keeping up with servicing not only reduces long-term costs but also ensures your vehicle remains safe, reliable, and performing at its best.
Savings, Value & Insurance
Routine servicing can save you money by identifying issues early before they become expensive repairs, while also helping your vehicle run more efficiently. A well-maintained car with a full service history can achieve a higher resale value, as its condition and upkeep are clear to potential buyers. Additionally, in the event of an accident, insurance companies may consider your vehicle’s service history when assessing its value, making regular maintenance even more important.
What Does a Car Service Include?
Car servicing typically falls into three main categories: Basic, Interim, and Full Service, each designed around your vehicle’s mileage, usage, and condition. While the exact checks may vary slightly between garages, all services include inspections, fluid checks, and component assessments to ensure your vehicle remains roadworthy. In addition to scheduled servicing, we also offer individual services such as brakes, clutches, air conditioning, diagnostics, tyre repairs, and more.
Basic Service (from £120)
A basic service is recommended every 6 months or 6,000 miles, whichever comes first, and includes a comprehensive 25-point check. This service includes engine oil and oil filter replacement, essential fluid top-ups, and key inspections covering brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, exhaust, and overall engine condition. It also includes checks of lights, wipers, and other essential components to ensure your vehicle remains safe and reliable for everyday use, along with a diagnostic plug-in, fault code reading and reset where necessary, a service history update, and a full report detailing any faults or advisories identified.
Interim Service (from £160)
An interim service is typically recommended every 12 months or 10,000 miles and expands on the basic service with around 40 detailed checks. In addition to all basic service items, this service includes engine oil and oil filter replacement, plus either an air filter or cabin filter depending on mileage and manufacturer specifications. It also covers inspections of cooling systems, belts, fuel systems, braking components, suspension, and more in-depth checks of both internal and external vehicle condition, making it ideal for higher mileage drivers who want additional peace of mind between full services, and also includes a diagnostic plug-in, fault code reading and reset where necessary, a service history update, and a full report detailing any faults or advisories identified.
Full Service (from £220)
A full service is the most comprehensive option, recommended every 12 to 18 months or 12,000 to 18,000 miles, and includes a thorough 50-point inspection. This service includes replacement of engine oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin filter, fuel filter, and spark plugs on petrol engines, along with detailed checks of engine systems, brakes, suspension, exhaust, and electrical components to ensure your vehicle is maintained to the highest standard for performance, safety, and longevity. It also includes a diagnostic plug-in, fault code reading and reset where necessary, a service history update, and a full report detailing any faults or advisories identified.
